What I learned at the Oscars with the $9.4 Billion Dollar Man …
What a whirlwind Journey
Last thursday evening … I received an email with the subject line saying:
Can you meet Rich Schefren and Jay Abraham in LA this weekend?
I opened up the email, and to my surprise there was an invite
to attend Elton John’s Oscar party!!!
My first reaction was SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
My second reaction was…
… how do I tell “the” wife?
My third reaction was …
… Fuck!!
I have a product launch next week and i’m too busy to go party in Los Angeles.
YUP! in that order…
So I replied saying, I couldn’t make it
and that was that!
However …the next morning my PA’s reaction was “You’re crazy! You HAVE to go!”
later that day, at the Gym my Personal Trainer exclaimed
she would kick me in the balls if i didn’t go.
And my wife was the same: “Go! Go! Go! …”
So off I set off to LA with my itinerary….

What a whirl wind of a trip to Lah Lah Land, it was!
it all happen so quick …
and only started to sink in as I sat in the London airport
with my beer and breakfast.

Crikey …I actually have a ticket in my hand to the best party in LA!
I slept on the plane ‘cos i knew it was going to be 48 hours
of MADNESS!!!
less than 12 hours later in Hollywood , a few drinks by the roof-top pool
and all set to party the night away.

then I hit a club with Rich Schefren Pete Williams
and a few more VERY cool people and we party into the early morning…

… we’ll the next morning (the morning of The Oscars)
I woke up bright and early 7:11am
I looked out my window to see the sun rising over LA skyline.

then I hit pool on my own with a Bloody Mary in tow!

Rich Schefren joined me shortly after to let me know that we had a meeting with Jay Abraham at noon!
I started to panic as i’m SCARED of Jay Abraham !!!
although Jay’s a good friend of mine, he still scares me when ever
he sits me down to give advise.
(have you seen his credentials – he’s the 9.4 Billion dollar man)
after 5 more bloody mary’s getting ready for the meeting…
… lunch time arrived and so did Jay!
and the three of us had lunch and talk women business.

Jay’s lesson today was … about keeping everything simple.
he told me going from Million’s to Billions in sales was just a letter!
and how people starting out in business make it so difficult for themselves
and normally work on EVERYTHING apart from the few things that really should to be done.
***************************************************************************
my question to you is – do you know the few things that really need to be done?
It doesn’t matter if you’re launching you’re first $10 eBook or charging $10,000 for a ticket to a seminar like Jay Does, do you know the few things that need to be done?
if not then you need to watch these videos: http://marketingwithalex.com/5pillars/total.htm
***************************************************************************
anyway … before I knew it – it was time to get in the Tux
and head to The Oscar Party.
Rich had us a Car to pick us up at 3:30pm
as we drove to the Oscars it felt very erey?
there was FBI EVERYWHERE…

… Tinsle Town was on LOCK DOWN!!!
there were Video crews EVERYWHERE TOO!

helicopters Galor in the air!
Finally we turned up to the event!
The first person I saw on the carpet was heidi klum

For a well known Super Model ( she couldn’t keep her hand off my bum? )

we then had a few cocktails!
myself with Rich Schefren

With Jay Abraham

and then Jim Carey walked upto the bar …
I almost choked and couldn’t stop laughing when I saw his shoes.

It was then time for the Oscars.
we were ushered to our table where Elton John shortly Joined us.
Here’s a pic of Rich Schefren and Sir Elton john.

As an Entreperner it was a blessing to meet someone like Sir Elton John,
not only for all the good work he does around the world.
what an insperation he’s been all of my life,
also last year he was named as the 2nd Highest Paid person in the UK.
( so that was good topic of conversation )
but I have to say here’s the coolest part for me of the whole trip……
I met Chris Brown!

let me be clear I met TONS celebs that night.
the like’s of Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, Nyomin camble,
Russell Simmons etc were at the party,
but I SWEAR Chris was the coolest person at the party. “for me”
while hanging out with him. I really forgot he was a celeb
and felt comfortable around him.
He made me feel good as we talked too!
we spoke about our favourte rappers and I remember busting out
my iphone to show him my itunes list full of London’s finest names.
it was only when got home I realised “AGAIN” How famous Chris is
when i saw that 45,000 people had liked his FaceBook picture from
the party.
It’s now only looking back like wow! That was kinda cool meeting him
and how nice he was.
also this dude steve tyler from the band Aerosmith really took a liking
to Rich as I remember him coming over to our table on a few ocations :)

The Oscars ended in an EPIC party …
… and we all got home a Silly O’Clock!

after talking to a few of the Oscar Winners ofcourse!

Don’t know there names mind you? do you???
i’ll never forget that night for the rest of my life.
all said and done …
The following day I had to fly home to attend my product launch.
so me and Rich hugged it out and said our good by’s and I flew
back home to London UK.
however on my return home I got sick!
My wife calls it man flu.

but on my return I was pleasantly happy, my team had the product launch
all in control and I could go home to bed and sleep off the …
(1) Man Flu
(2) Jet Lag
(3) Hangover
LOL
so I guess in closing there really is a lesson in this post…
if you get the chance to party like a rock star ……TAKE IT!
I really could have missed one of the best day’s of my life !!!
spent with one of my best friends in the world.
so my question in closing …
what have you been missing out on?
I say SCREW IT go do it!
To your Success
Alex Jeffreys
PS- I’d like to thank Rich Schefren for taking me to the Oscars

Great post Alex and very motivational as well.
Hey Alex,
Nice to see you’ve recovered sufficiently to be able to post on your blog! lol!
The point about Jay’s comments about keeping things simple is a very important thing to remember. In fact, I came to realise the importance of this from your training and if I hadn’t have taken this on board then I’d have likely still been sitting here trying to get everything perfect instead of taking real action!
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself in L.A., it looks like you had a blast!
Dude that’s awesome! That’s got me properly motivated now to build my business to the stage where I could end up being in such situations :)
Cheers,
James
“Screw it go do it” …. maaaaannnnnn, you’re gonna get me into trouble.
I like it though dude, looks like an awesome time. Glad you were able to leave the biz behind for some quality ragin’. :D
By far, one of the best blog posts by an IMer to date. Thanks for sharing, Alex.

Awesome post dude! Glad you had an epic time out here with all our celebs!
Hi Alex!
I’m really glad to hear about your journey to the Oscar’s. Your absolutely right about not missing out on things in life. I grew up in Baltimore City in Maryland on the East Coast U.S.A. I got mixed up in some real bad stuff coming up. I wasted many years of my life in places I wish I had never been, and doing things I wish I had not done. With that all said, I’m alive, I will be 58 in about a month, and I have done more shit than the average bear for sure! But I didn’t do the good things I should have done, and could have done. All I can say is this Alex. Time can be your friend, or it can be your worst enemy. You can’t buy it, you can’t get anymore of it, no matter how bad you need it, and worst of all, you never know when it will run out? Don’t waste your time! It is without a doubt the most precious thing we have, but make no mistake about it Alex, money means nothing to time! Time laughs at money! You can bust your balls and get filthy rich, and time can pull that cord an you ain’t spending nothing! So yes, make money, get fat with cash, but enjoy life, and more importantly, enjoy the people in your life that matter the most Alex! I am glad you had a great time, and I hope you have many more times like that. Continue to reach out to others Alex, and you will continue to be blessed. You are blessed my brother, but I am sure you know that. Take care, thanks for sharing your trip to the Oscars I read the entire thing and looked at all the pictures. Thanks buddy!
